I have been writing since I was in high school, but I wanted to be a doctor since even before then.  This led to my obtaining a BS in Chemistry--with a minor in music performance, just to balance out my education.  My junior year in college, I decided that medical school wasn't for me, because of family and social considerations, so I worked as an environmental chemist for 10 years in Southern California.  During that time I continued to write technical and science articles and manuals.  My husband and I moved to Tennessee in 1996, at which time I decided I wanted to go back to graduate school and pursue my passion for writing.  I graduated with an MA in English in 2002 and began teaching composition, literature and critical writing at the university level. 

 

In addition to my writing, I'm passionate about my faith, my music and my family.
